Advancements in the dental sciences have made a lot of cosmetic dental procedures available to the general population. Some cosmetic procedures are very simple and basic in nature and can be completed in one or two office visits. Others are very elaborate procedures that involve the use of advanced technology and special dental training.

Dental Bonding

White material known as composite resin can be applied to the surface of teeth that are discolored, chipped, cracked, or gapped. This procedure is usually completed in one visit where Dr. Marc expertly matches the bonding material to your tooth color for a completely natural result.

Dental Crowns

More complicated cosmetic teeth procedures have to be applied when teeth are seriously damaged or lost.  Dental crowns are constructed from porcelain.  Crowns are the best solution to a tooth that has lost a large percentage of its surface area due to tooth decay or an accident.

Dental Bridges

Occasionally teeth are lost from disease or injury. They may be replaced with a dental appliance crafted to look like your original teeth and affixed permanently in place.

Tooth Whitening (Bleaching)

Teeth Whitening is a procedure that brightens teeth that are discolored, stained or darkened by injury. It can be done on any tooth, including those that have had root canal procedures. Professional whitening has proven to be safe and effective. It does not harm the teeth and any discomfort is temporary.

Two types of whitening procedures are available: Opalescence and Zoom.

TAKE-HOME SYSTEM

The “take-home” system, also known as Opalescence , is designed to fit your schedule. You have the choice of whitening during the day or overnight, whatever works best for you. Dr. Marc will customize a tray that will fit snugly over your teeth and hold the whitening gel. On average a patient should see a difference in three to four days.

IN-OFFICE SYSTEM

The “in-office” system, also known as Zoom/Boost, is recommended by Dr. Marc for anyone looking for the convenience of immediate results. The procedure begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth uncovered. The whitening gel is then applied and your teeth are exposed to the special Zoom light. The entire process usually takes under two hours.

Porcelain Veneers

Prominent gaps between teeth, discoloration, uneven and broken teeth are all contenders for porcelain veneers. Today’s dental materials have made porcelain veneers the most “realistic-looking” tooth covering ever made.

White Colored Fillings

White Fillings are used since most patients don’t like the look of older metal fillings. Some patients are concerned about potential health risks from aging metal mercury fillings. White fillings are crafted from a tough material and color matched to your tooth color. Dr. Marc uses only white filling material in his practice.

Sleep Apnea/Snore Positioning Appliances

Obstructive sleep apnea and snoring occur when the airway collapses, blocking airflow into the lungs. There are many new and innovative solutions available to those who snore or have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Appliances similar to an athletic mouthguard worn while sleeping have been found to reduce sleep apnea associated health risks without the need for surgery, medications or other more cumbersome therapy. Dr. Marc evaluates each patient and situation to determine the best appliance options for their needs.
